Reagan had her last Little Gym class last week where they do a performance for parents. She had been looking forward to it all week long. She was practicing her "moves" at home pretty much non-stop. When the time finally came to start the presentation, she was first up on the balance beam. As she was climbing up onto it, she slipped and fell down. She stood up right away but was fighting back tears, trying to be brave. One look at me and she lost it, ran over to me and started sobbing. Oh goodness. This was one of those parenting moments no one prepares you for. I was fighting back tears myself. To see my little girl completely deflated about broke me. She had been working so hard all week and was so excited for this moment and then in a second, all confidence was lost.
After a long hug session with me, she finally wanted to get up and try again. She missed her time on the beam but started back with her "floor routine" (which is what she was most excited about). I was so proud of her for dusting herself off and trying again. She's in the blue leotard, second one in from the right.
