San Diego

What a great trip Reagan and I took to San Diego!  First off, she was an amazing little traveler!  I had the stroller with me so that her little legs wouldn't have to walk across a big airport.  She was excited to get onto the plane and was enamored with all the signs, sounds and goings-on that happen in and around the airport.  She ended up coloring and playing with stickers pretty much the entire time we were flying.  When we were on our decent into San Diego, she was frustrated because she couldn't see the ocean.  She finally decided she might be able to see it if she put on her hat and sunglasses.....

We landed in San Diego around 5pm on Thursday evening.  Josh picked us up and after squeezing all of our stuff and Reagan's car seat into his super cool Audi, we made our way up to Encinitas where Josh lives.  He took us to a nice mexican dinner that night.

Friday morning we got up and headed out towards Sea World!! Reagan had no idea what to expect but upon arrival was surprisingly speechless.  We saw all sorts of animals, from the giant walrus, polar bears, beluga whales, penguins, sharks, dolphins, turtles, sea lions, otters, and of course the Shamu show.  Josh and I have never been to Sea World so it was exciting for us too!!!

the GIANT walrus. i'm still amazed at how big it was.

Saturday morning we had a slow start to the day which was much appreciated by me!!  We ended up packing up our stuff and heading to the beach!  We went to a beautiful beach about 5 minutes (or less) from Josh's house.  We were one of the first groups there and got to enjoy the beach and ocean for about 2 1/2 hours before heading home.  When we got home, Reagan took a 2 hour nap and Josh and I enjoyed lunch/drinks/catch up time on the patio....it was a wonderful way to spend the first half of the day.

Saturday evening we had dinner with my cousin Jocelyn, her two beautiful girls, Kylie and Maia (who were the flower girls in my wedding) and my Aunt Jan and Uncle Tom. It was a quick dinner but so great to do a quick catch up with them.  Kylie and Maia were so great with Reagan.  She keeps asking if "those pretty girls from California" will come visit.  She LOOOOOVED them.

I was so glad we took this trip!  Thanks to Kurt who gave me this trip as a birthday gift.  I needed time away with my "baby" and we had a great time together.  I actually felt like I got to rest and enjoy my time with my brother.  Wonderful weekend!!!
